Dear Parents and Carers,
The following is information for families.
If you or your child tests positive for COVID-19, please follow the NSW government protocols https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/management/advice-for-confirmed
These are the steps to take:
1. Register your positive test on the Service NSW website so you can be linked to important health care support and advice based on your COVID-19 risk. If you or someone can't register online, please call Service NSW on 13 77 88
2. Isolate immediately for 7 days. Your household must isolate for 7 days. If you have a sore throat, runny nose, cough, or shortness of breath after 7 days, please remain in isolation until 24hrs after your symptoms have resolved
3. Tell people you spent time with from the 2 days before you started having symptoms or 2 days before you tested positive (whichever came first) that you have COVID-19. This includes your social contacts, workplace and/or school.
4. Monitor your symptoms. If you are concerned you should call your GP, the NSW Health COVID-19 Care at Home Support Line on 1800 960 933, or the National Coronavirus Helpline 1800 020 080. If symptoms become severe call 000.
Contacting the school
Please call the office if you need to let your child's teacher know about a positive case in your household. If your child is unwell, let them rest and recover. There is no need to complete schoolwork during this time.
If your child is in isolation and isn't sick, you can access digital learning packs that have been provided for parents and carers by the Department of Education. These can be found at https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and-learning/learning-from-home/learning-at-home/2022-digital-learning-packs
Advice about easing restrictions in NSW public schools can be found at https://education.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/advice-for-families
Take care,
Mrs Emily Luzaic
